Thorn at Ten Weeks!

Today Thorn turned eleven weeks old so I thought I had better put up the rest of his ten weeks photos! Here are a bunch I took of him playing with Zak and our dogs over the course of the Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be sure to get some more this week, he is changing fast! I had forgotten how FAST they grow at this age--I swear he stretches and he's another inch taller! Enjoy the photos. :)

Thorn loves his new Daddy!

Thorn gives Kyrie instruction in stick-NOMNOMs.

Thorn thinks Leo is very large and much fluffier than other Shilohs he has met!

Thorn loves to run, and is very coordinated for a pup of his age!

He is a very pretty boy when he's standing still...which isn't often!

A very busy day for a small puppy!

Check back soon!

Our Thanksgiving Surprise!

Unbeknownst to me, my husband Zak had been wanting a big, smooth Shiloh boy for a while. This year over his Thanksgiving holiday, fate conspired to give him his way, and on November 24th at 8:15 p.m. we will be receiving our new puppy: Wolfcreek's Thorn of Sparta, formerly Mickey! Above is a photo of him taken at four weeks old--he only weighed five pounds! Below is another of him at six weeks. :)

Wolf Creek Shilohs is out in Ohio, run by our friend Michael Kerr. Coincidentally, he also owns our girl Kyrie's grandsire: Grand Victor and Breed Champion Zion's Perfect Storm! You can go to Wolf Creek Shilohs' website here: Wolf Creek

Thorn's dam is Sadie, owned by Mike, and his sire is Blaze, owned by Dee Bunker of Deelight Shilohs. Blaze is one of the largest Shilohs ever bred; he broke the wicket when they tried to measure him at the 2008 Shiloh Homecoming! We are hoping that Thorn will follow in his sire's footsteps and be a BIG boy--though he is pretty little right now! Here is a photo of him at seven weeks, next to his half-brother Scout from the Sadie/Storm litter.

We were told that it was pretty hard to get Thorn to hold still when he was with his littermates. In fact, the photo below was the only one Mike could catch of him standing still! Hopefully this augers well for his housebreaking...at least he is doing it in the grass!

Thanks for looking and we'll be updating shortly with photos of Thorn's first day with us!
