New Thorny Photos :)
It has been a long time since we have updated Thorn's gallery! He will be two years old this September, only a couple months from now. He has grown into an active, curious, intelligent boy with an impressive physique, as you can see from the photo above--all muscle! He reminds me of a mixture of his great-great Grandpa Angus and the dogs descended from Grey-Torey, also in his pedigree.
Here's a study in light and dark, we were out at sunrise and most of the yard was still in shadow!
And a nice profile:
Thorn loves to play, play, play! He tends to gather up all the toys together in the yard so he can switch back and forth between them.
Thanks for taking a look at our update! We'll do another, with more photos, when he turns two. :)

Thorn at Ten Months!
Hi everyone! I don't have time for many words right now, but the other day we went out and snapped a few new photos of Thorn. Here he is at ten months!
Thorn loves frisbee:
And he loves drinking from his bucket:
After the bucket is empty, it becomes a toy. A very silly one.
Thorn really likes to try to get people to chase him. This is his "chase me" face:
Here is Thorn with a big grin on:
Thorn says: Thanks for looking, everybody! Someday I'll grow out of my silly puppy face!

Thorn at Eight Months!
Well, we kinda slacked on the seven-months photos, but Thorn turned eight months old yesterday so we went for a quick photo shoot this morning to try to get him in a show stack. Of course his conformation can still change a bit--he is still a growing puppy!
He is slightly bigger than Kyrie now, we are putting him at between 27 and 28 inches at eight months. I'm guessing he's around 75-80 pounds, as he is heavier-boned than Kyr. And her slim weight is around 72-73 pounds.
Thorn was not at all sure what this stacking stuff was about! "You want to do what with my paws? Didn't you trim my nails yesterday and I hated it?" seemed to be about his thinking. Even the treats didn't seem to distract him! So I stopped trying to mess with his legs and just led him forward with some treats while Zak took a succession of very fast shots. Lo and behold!
Success! Thorn is definitely a dog who you have to convince. Get him to think it's HIS idea and you have no trouble. Try to butt heads and get ready for a battle!
We will try to get some action shots soon! Thorn is very athletic, and FAST! He can outrun even Kyrie, and she is the speed demon of the family!
Thanks for reading, check back soon!!

Thorn at Six Months!
Okay, another blog update and then we will need to shoot some new photos! Here are Thorn's photos at six months. :) Most of these are of Thorn playing with his FAVORITE toy: the Jolly Ball! Thorn has made a habit of loving every single toy that our other dogs refused to play with, and this is no exception!
I told Thorn he had to stop playing long enough for me to get some decent photos...
...so here he is mugging for the camera!
And Thorn with a smile on!
Thanks for looking...we'll try to get some action shots for the seven-months photos!

Thorn at Five Months!!
Wow, I am really getting behind in my blogging!! Let's remedy that now. Here are some of our photos of Thorn at five months!
At five months old, Thorn has gotten pretty tall! Here he is standing on his back legs. My arm is sticking straight out from my shoulder and the top of my head is around the top of the frame. :)
Here is Thorn sitting pretty so you can see his colors. We thought that he was going to be a gray sable, colored more like his mom, Sadie, but he seems to be turning into a golden or light brown sable. Those dang sables, they change every time you turn around when they're growing up! Sometimes it is REALLY hard to tell what color a sable pup will end up!
And another sitting one of Thorn with a smile:
And Thorn in a free stack!
And another stack photo where he is trying very hard to get the treat in my hand!
And finally, here is one of Thorn in a flying trot, albeit a very slow one (so he's not stretched out much):
We hope you've enjoyed Thorn's five months photos--I'll get his six-months and seven-months photos up soon!!

Thorn at Four Months!
Thorn is forty-six pounds and 22" at the shoulder at four and a half months old! The other day we went out and did a quick photo shoot so that we would have some pictures to post on his blog!
As you can see, he LOVES to run and has some nice reach going! We are thinking at this point that he will be a golden sable. Originally we thought he might be a grey sable but I have noticed his undercoat is a light golden buff and his legs and ears are a deeper gold. He could still change, though...you never know with these sables, not 'till they are adults and then they STILL can change!!
Thorn loves his ball! He likes his squeaky one best, especially if he can annoy house guests with it. ;)
I love this photo of him standing. This is the Thorn I most often see--alert, grinning, and ready for just about anything!!
Thanks for looking...remember that Mike still has three of Thorn's brothers and one sweet little sister who are looking for forever homes! Please help them find homes soon...show this blog to others and send them to Mike's website at Wolf Creek Shilohs!!

Thorn at Three Months!
Well I haven't posted for a while and Thorn is just around four months old. We got some great photos of him in the last month so I wanted to share them before we go out and get some new ones for his four-months gallery! This December we had record-low temperatures and snowfall--we actually had a white Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, which has not happened in 80 years in our area! Thorn decided he really liked the snow, and I got the "snowy nose" picture above. :) Below we have one of my favorite standing-Thorn photos--happy puppy!
The next picture is a sitting one, with Thorn being very attentive--at least to the treat in my hand! Thorn is a lot like Leo was in that his face is very "adult"-looking even though he is a pup. Especially when he is looking as serious as he is in that photo!
And finally we have Thorn being silly with one of his favorite toys--his Jolly Ball. He loves me to throw this so he can chase it and then run around the yard carrying it (we're working on the retrieving part still...). Thorn is an oddity in that he seems to like all of the toys that the other dogs hated! At least now we get some use out of them...
Thanks for looking at Thorn's blog, we'll try to have some new photos up soon!
